Yeah, ya got me. Guilty as charged. It was done that way for a reason, a reason that I will not get into. The thing is, quite a few people on this board already knew it, but you were the only one who just HAD to say something. Like I said, not a big deal, I just find it interesting.

Firstly, the ?prices? I was referring to were for the cards, binder and the model. Since I don?t collect everything (these included), I had no idea whether those items were worth it, hence the statement.

Secondly, as far as ?scouring? E-bay?.are you telling me YOU don?t do that? Now it?s my turn to say ?C?mon man?. ?and as to outbidding you on ?a ton of shit?, you mean to tell me YOU?VE never outbid me on stuff? Please. I?ve been outbid by plenty of board members. The difference was, I never took it personally and needed to call anybody on it. To me it was simple, If YOU were willing to spend more, YOU deservedly won it. It is after all, an AUCTION.
It seems to me that you?re not so much pissed off that I outbid you, but that you didn?t snag the jersey for $12.50. If you?re taking this personal Vic, and I assure you that it?s not.

Lv, if you check the thread, (if it?s still around) you?ll see that I did not ?sign? on to it. Why? Because in my opinion it?s a bad idea and I don?t believe in it.

And reason is this:
Quite a few times in the past, I had come across an auction for an item that I wanted, but didn?t bid on because another board member already had a bid on it. Unfortunately, the board member in question didn?t have a high enough bid to win the auction and someone one else (read: Not a board member) ended up winning the item. I was willing to pay a higher amount than the other board member, but didn?t bid. So it ended up that because of this flawed courtesy, the board member ended up with nothing as did I, even though I was willing to pay more!

Anyone I?ve met in person or talked to on the phone knows my feeling on this issue. ( And there are a lot more on the board who believe the same way, but don?t vocalize it because it?s not a very popular position.) These are AUCTIONS. An auction goes to the HIGHEST BIDDER. IF YOU WANT SOMETHING BAD ENOUGH, BID ENOUGH. Don?t expect a bargain.

How would you feel if you were selling something on E-bay, and to save money you started the bidding at 99 cents even though you knew it would get much more. The first person who ends up bidding is a board member. Now, because of the ?courtesy? thing, no one else from the board bids. At the end of the auction someone finally swoops in and snags it for $1.25. Now the ?no bid policy? doesn?t seem so good, does it.
Like I said earlier, there is nothing personal in this.
